This is Not Where I Want to Live

If you’re black take care

If you’re a Jew watch out

It’s not safe out there

It’s not safe in the grocery store

Take care where you pray

And if you’re queer 

they want to erase who you are

If you’re a refugee the gate is closed

It’s not safe if you wear a Hijab

or your name sounds as if you are Muslim 

These are hard times 

This is not the time for silence

This is the time to say no more
