A Horse Caught in Time

Years ago, before painters repaired
cracks and painted over the surface
of a wall between a pizza restaurant
and a store selling Oriental rugs
I spotted a galloping horse created
out of cracks and peeling paint
He kept moving across the wall
unaware of being caught in one spot
