to test the cold
to see if my nose freezes
or my fingertips burn
and my ears turn red
I'm going out
to see if the sun
wrapped the cold
in a warm embrace
Then I'm going to
wrap myself up
and count the clouds
and check the trees
and walk over ice
and come back home
