Day 3. Lent

Believe


     Hoping against hope, he believed.
             Romans 4:18

Hope is fragile
It may take years,
years when it seems
that nothing moves
Time resists
Perhaps doubt edges
into the hem of belief
Perhaps hope frays
away at belief
Yet to let hope die,
shrivel up and fall away,
is to live without light
