Day 19. Lent

To Be a Christian


        To be a Christian means to forgive
        the inexcusable because God has
        forgiven the inexcusable in you.
               C.S. Lewis


I'm amazed,
in awe,
of those who forgive
the inexcusable.
Until I stand
in that place
where words
won't help,
where belief and faith
become more
than phrases
I won't know
if I can forgive
the inexcusable
Is this the crucible
of my faith?
