New England

It is cold outside, but this is winter and one anticipates cold weather. In a day or two, the temperature outside will plummet—or so we're told by those who follow the jet streams and the arctic blasts and all the other tell-tale signs.

Ice stilettos hang off roof edges
ready to impale anything below
Ice waterfalls weep
down the sides of houses

Love your choice of words, Linda: "Ice stilettos"and
"Ice waterfalls weep" I think we are all reaching the weeping stage of this endless stormy winter.
