I Must Have That

I own dozens of pencils, pens, paints
and sketchbooks, yet I follow
the mention of " my favorite pen"
or paint or palette or brand
mentioned by an artist with blind fervor
and desire for just that item.
Perhaps that alone will enable
me to loop to another level
where my lines and color
escape the banality of too ordinary,
or just plain weak-kneed.
