Alert—Snow Expected

it started yesterday—a large storm coming our way and schools closed early even though the streets had no snow sticking to roads and a scant amount in the grass and then the local libraries caught up and closed hours before their usual time and that forced the town offices to begin to worry so they too closed early— only the trash pick up kept to a pre-determined schedule— and starbucks remained open

by 6:00 pm meteorologists said that snow amounts would differ across the state with some spots only getting a scant amount and some areas receiving rain and some places as much as eighteen inches of snow —they hedge their bets

the farmer’s almanac predicts the weather months ahead and is usually right fifty percent of the time—-fortune tellers read palms, look in crystal balls, read tarot cards, mumble incantations

amulets survive from ancient times and serve to protect the wearer—as far back as 4400–4000 BCE “ examples dating from the Predynastic Egyptian  Badarian period.

I wonder if those amulets were accurate at predicting weather.
