Purple

There's something so sensual, vibrant, alive about spring flowers. I think this is the first year I spent so much time staring at flowers—looking for the secret and getting lost in their seductiveness.

Color—this purple deepened after an early rain. I discovered subtle tonal differences. Light—discrete and bold—heightened the effect.

And I dream of purple irises. Not the kind you buy, but the ones that grow wild in niches or between rocks.
